The Auxiliary Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York ("APBA") has been serving the Auxiliary Police of the New York City Police Department ("NYPD") for the past 45 years. Its continued mission is to ensure the rights, benefits and safety of the Auxiliary Police Officers and Auxiliary Police Supervisors who selflessly serve their local communities. The civic-minded individuals, who continually improve the quality of their neighborhoods, represent the very best the City of New York has to offer. We salute their continued service and commitment to excellence. Learn more…

You may also fill out an application online or mail an application. See forms below:
1. Email.
2. Visit this page for application instructions..
Join the APBA by clicking here, printing out the application and mailing it in with your dues. Don't miss out on opportunities that only your union can provide! Support your fellow Auxiliary Police Officers and help to make the program the best it can be.
As an independent entity, the APBA works in conjunction with the City of New York and the New York City Police Department to ensure the rights and benefits of the volunteer members of the New York City Police Department, so they receive the best training, equipment and support of the Department to do the job that they are mandated by the NYPD Auxiliary Police program. Though they are unsalaried, civic-minded volunteers, they still require the resources and support of the City and the Department to function effectively.
It is therefore, the main responsibility of the APBA to act as a union liason and political entity, to help motivate the continued support for the NYPD Auxiliary Police Program. In addition to introducing the necessary legislation to be instituted that will positively benefit the Auxiliary Police Officers of the NYPD.
In addition, we also, recognize the importance of civic responsibility and award those members who selflessly and continually give of their time and energy to make their neighborhoods a better place to live and work.
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Like you, we’re closely monitoring the latest news about the coronavirus. It is our duty and mission to serve our members who are Active and Former Auxiliary Police Officers, and we will continue our work throughout this health crisis. Our office is open, and our dedicated Officers are hard at work. In an abundance of caution, our Officers will be working from home.
If you call our office (212/608-2422), please leave a message and a telephone number where we can contact you. Rest assured that we will get back to you quickly.
We encourage you to make liberal use of our email ( apba@nycmail.com ), as this is the most efficient way to reach us during this health crisis.
Finally, in light of the coronavirus this month meeting is canceled.
Thank you
Stay Safe
Fraternally
John W. Hyland
